The Conference

The 3rd Conference of the International Society for Ecological Informatics (ISEI) will be held in Villa Grazioli Park Hotel, Grottaferrata (Rome, Italy), from August 26 to August 30, 2002. It is the next conference in a series that started in Toulouse (France) in 1998 and continued in Adelaide (Australia) in 2000. The first conference focused on the applications of artificial neural networks to ecological modelling, whereas the second one had a broader scope, which included not only artificial neural network applications, but also evolutionary algorithms and other AI techniques. The scope of the 3rd Conference is even broader, as it includes all the ecological applications of informatics, machine learning and computational methods.
